Angry Orchard
What They Are about
Nestled in the heart of the Hudson Valley is the Angry Orchard Cider House in Walden. The Hudson Valley – a thriving community of food, farming, and drinks – has a deep history of cider-making. Pre-Prohibition, cider apple orchards were common in this region, dating back more than 200 years. Like many of the orchards in the area, Angry Orchard’s apple orchard is part of that extensive history. It has been a working farm since the 1700s and the first apple trees planted here date back to the 1920s. In 2015, Angry Orchard purchased the land with the intention of transitioning the orchard back to cider-making varietals. These native apples are used to create small batch and experimental styles that are exclusive to the Cider House. Since opening their doors, Angry Orchard has been producing craft cider for locals and visitors to the region. With over a dozen craft ciders available at any given time, from traditional styles to the more innovative, there's literally something for everyone. As the orchard grows, so do they. Angry Orchard continues to expand its Cider House, revive the orchard, and offer an array of tours and experiences that connect cider drinkers to the orchard. They are dedicated to serving the community, as well as educating guests on Angry Orchard and the greater cider category. Their team continually works to provide excellent hospitality, an unmatched culture, and an inclusive, fun environment for all.
